Type of Range: Smallbore rifle indoor and high powered rifle

Started in 2010, this club originally formed to coordinate a festival honoring the 140th anniversary of the town. The group has continued its activities since and now sponsors various events including: the annual Pancake/Sausage feed, Baked Potato/Salad/Dessert Bar supper, the Mother/Daughter Salad Supper, 4th of July celebration, Sunflower Daze Halloween party, Christmas in Burr Oak, and the annual Merchants Drawing and visit from Santa to finish out the year. The Club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

This community group is dedicated to the beautification, betterment, and preservation of the Formoso Community. It joins forces with local organizations to facilitate community projects and events.

The Jewell Chamber of Commerce advances the commercial, industrial, civic, and general interest of the Jewell, KS area and North Central Kansas. Some projects include annual events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Kids Fishing Derby, 4th of July Fireworks Show, Jewell Corn Show, Halloween Party, and the Christmas Sampler/Santa visit.

Jewell County Health 365 is a community group serving to benefit the health of Jewell County Kansas. Its overall goal is to improve the health and wellness of Jewell County.

A Kansas Economic Development Corporation, this organization strives to improve the economic diversity of Jewell County.

The Jewell County Community Foundation’s mission is “to meet charitable community needs for the Jewell County area through leadership, grants and donor services.”

The Jewell County Council on Aging works to serve the needs of senior citizens of Jewell County.

Jewell County Food Pantry

Jewell County Resource Council: Comprising a group of local and regional community service organizations, the Jewell County Resource Council works to better connect county residents with essential resources. They meet the second Tuesday of each month at 12:00 at the Buffalo Roam.

The Jewell County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Jewell County. It oversees the Jewell County Historical Museum (link to museum page) and coordinates the annual Threshing Bee. Meetings are held the 3rd of each month.

Post Rock Extension

Jewell County is served by the Post Rock District of K-State Research and Extension. Post Rock Extension provides educational programming and services to seven counties across North Central Kansas and is a great go-to for all things farm, home, family, health, 4-H!

Mankato Chamber of Commerce

The Mankato Chamber of Commerce is an organization made up of business owners, entrepreneurs, and citizens in and around Mankato. Its goal is to provide representation to members in the form of leadership and volunteerism, as well as assisting its members in bettering their business within the community. It sponsors numerous events around the county each year. The Chamber meets the second Wednesday of each month at 12:00.

The Mankato Garden Club aims to “encourage the members to make better gardens and through the growing and sharing of flowers beautify our community, our homes and our everyday living.”

Located in the Mankato Community Center, the Senior Center strives to deliver meals to the ones who can’t come to our Center and provide meals and activities to any and all ages. Lunch is served M-F each week.

According to its members, “The Jewell County Memorial Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars is an organization that serves veterans. We support our current and past military men and women.” VFW Post 7830 sponsors community events throughout the year and on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 at the Post Home in Mankato.

Jewell County Justified

Comprised of a board with community members, this investment group is responsible for bringing back the fan-favorite restaurant, Sweden Creme and starting Possibilities.

Jewell County Resource Council

Comprising representatives from different community service organizations, the Jewell County Resource Council aims to better connect people with resources and services, both locally and regionally. They meet the second Tuesday of each month at 12:00 at the Buffalo Roam.

Jewell Gun Club

Shoots are every second Saturday (weather permitting).
